It could be the most intense example of Trump Derangement Syndrome ever seen on television. Nicolle Wallace Faces Backlash for Comments on Trump’s Honorary Secret Service Appointment for Young Cancer Patient

MSNBC hosts Nicolle Wallace and Rachel Maddow are facing criticism from supporters of former President Donald Trump after making controversial remarks regarding his recognition of a young brain cancer survivor during a televised address.

During his speech to Congress, Trump honored 13-year-old DJ Daniels, a child battling brain cancer who dreams of becoming a police officer. In a moment that drew applause from Republican lawmakers, the former president announced that Daniels would be made an honorary Secret Service agent.

“He has always dreamed of becoming a police officer. But in 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer,” Trump stated. “And tonight, DJ, we’re going to do you the biggest honor of them all.”

That kind of gesture by the president made liberals at the news channel completely lose their minds, writes The New York Post.

Maddow bizarrely accused Trump of being “disgusting” for spotlighting DJ’s heroic battle with the disease, which the youngster had initially been warned would kill him in months.

“For the record – and this is disgusting – the president made a spectacle out of praising a young man who’s thus far survived pediatric cancer – as if the president had something to do with that,” the lefty host raged.

Wallace, meanwhile, tried to link DJ’s aspirations of becoming a cop to the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riots.

“I hope he’s alive for another 95 years and I hope he lives the life he wants to live. He wants to be a cop, he knows what he wants to do and maybe when you have childhood cancer that crystallizes for you,” Wallace said after noting she had felt “joy” over the boy’s moment.

Maddow is the highest-paid host at MSNBC.

Nicole Wallace worked in the Bush White House and John McCain campaigns before becoming an ultra-liberal and self-described “self-loathing former Republican.”

Wallace went on to criticize Trump’s stance on federal spending, arguing that his administration had reduced funding for cancer research. Although she admitted she was unaware of the specifics of Daniels’ treatment, Wallace contended that pediatric cancer trials had suffered under budget cuts.

Her comments quickly sparked backlash from conservatives and the White House. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt laid into Wallace, saying, ““The mainstream media still doesn’t get it. Last night, MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace disgustingly looped in a 13-year-old-boy with brain cancer into an attack on the president over January 6.”

She also criticized CNN, noting the cable channel called the president’s speech “divisive” in a chyron.

“President Trump wasn’t divisive. The Democrats were — and CNN was proven wrong by their own viewers, 69% of whom, in a post-speech poll said they had a positive reaction to the President’s speech,” she said.

CNN wasn’t alone. A CBS poll showed that over 75 percent of those who watched the speech on Tuesday approved.
