It may have been one of JD Vance’s finest campaign moments. During an interview, noted Fox News, the GOP pick for vice president “clashed with ABC News host Martha Raddatz on Sunday during an interview about the Venezuelan migrant gang members’ presence in apartment buildings in Aurora, Colorado.
“I’m going to stop you because I know exactly what happened. I’m going to stop you. The incidents were limited to a handful of apartment complexes and the mayor said our dedicated police officers have acted on those concerns. A handful of problems,” Raddatz insisted as she pressed Vance on Trump’s statements during a rally in Aurora about the migrant gangs.”
Now, the notorious apartment complex in Aurora has become the scene of yet another chilling crime and is being labeled a “torture hub.” Early Tuesday morning, a couple living in the Edge of Lowry Apartments endured a horrific ordeal at the hands of a group of armed assailants. Despite prior attempts to improve conditions at the troubled property, this violent incident underscores its ongoing issues.
Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlin expressed outrage during a press briefing, describing the situation as “appalling.” According to authorities, between 13 and 15 armed individuals, suspected members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA), tortured the couple. The attackers allegedly restrained, beat, and terrorized the victims before stealing from their apartment.
The Daily Mail reports that the victims’ fingernails were yanked from their hands after migrant gangsters kidnapped the couple early Tuesday morning, forcing them into an apartment unit where they were tied up, beaten, pistol-whipped and brutalized.
The attackers are Venezuelan migrants, local cops confirmed, but stopped short of connecting them to the the South American gang that has taken control of at least three apartment complex in Denver suburb.
But police sources confirmed to Daily Mail that the attackers were part of the violent, bloodthirsty gang.Â
The bloodthirsty criminal organization, called the epitome of evil, has also unleashed a wave of crime across America, from beating NYPD cops to murders, rapes and child prostitution.
The suspects, described as migrants, included both men and women. While 16 people have been detained, formal charges are pending as authorities work to confirm their involvement through victim identification.
The Edge of Lowry Apartments is one of three Aurora properties allegedly overtaken by Tren de Aragua, a violent gang with roots in South America. The group is linked to drug trafficking, illegal apartment rentals, and prostitution operations. Residents and law enforcement have described the complex as rife with criminal activity, to the extent that officers have reportedly been advised against responding to calls there without backup.
This is not the first time the Edge of Lowry Apartments has been in the spotlight for gang-related violence. In August, doorbell camera footage captured armed individuals threatening residents, further illustrating the gang’s dominance. Tren de Aragua is said to have taken over vacant apartments, renting them illegally to other migrants and converting some units into drug dens and spaces for human trafficking.
Two other properties in Aurora, Whispering Pines and Aspen Grove, have also been linked to the gang. While Aspen Grove has since been condemned and vacated, the ongoing issues at Edge of Lowry highlight the persistent presence of TdA in the area.
Despite these troubling patterns, city officials have insisted that Aurora does not have a gang problem, and Colorado’s elected officials, including Democratic Governor Jared Polis, have vowed to fight Trump’s attempts to rein in illegal immigration.
