Harris Accused Of Faking Hurricane Response Photos

There’s nothing real about Kamala Harris. That’s becoming clear as the vice president stages photo ops during the Asheville, North Carolina crisis.

Former President Donald Trump took aim at Harris after she posted a photo of herself working on Hurricane Helene disaster relief, accusing her of staging the image for political optics. Harris’s photo, shared on Twitter, showed her aboard a plane, wearing headphones, appearing to take notes while on a call about the recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene left at least 30 people dead in the Asheville area.

The problem was that the paper she was “writing” on was blank and her headphones weren’t plugged into her phone.

Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump mocked Harris, stating, “You have to plug the cord into the phone for it to work!” He pointed out that the headphone cord appeared disconnected from the phone visible on her desk. “Another fake and staged photo from someone who has no clue what she is doing,” he added.

In her post, Harris detailed her efforts, writing, “I was just briefed by [FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell] on the latest developments about the ongoing impacts of Hurricane Helene. We also discussed our Administration’s continued actions to support emergency response and recovery.” Harris further noted her conversations with Governor Cooper and emphasized the administration’s commitment to staying in constant contact with local officials.

Harris has yet to visit any of the hurricane-affected states in person. Meanwhile, Trump traveled to Valdosta, Georgia, on Monday, where he toured storm-damaged areas and assisted in distributing supplies to impacted residents. In his remarks, Trump criticized Harris, accusing her and President Joe Biden of neglecting Americans. “Biden and Harris abandoned Americans in Afghanistan,” Trump wrote. “Now, they have left Americans to drown in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and elsewhere in the South.”

Harris did visit FEMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., wherein she gave a short speech and refused to take questions. Red State noted, “fresh off of her trip to sunny California, Harris proceeded to visit FEMA HQ Monday, where she delivered a short, scripted statement declaring the administration would be there to assist states in need for as long as it took.

Incredibly, she talked about how this was a time when people were “rising to the moment,” an interesting choice of words considering that when Biden and Harris had the opportunity to rise to the moment they chose to abandon the ship for greener pastures.”

Red State continued: “This is of course an insult to our intelligence, especially the part where she suggested she had been getting regular briefings on the dire situation in states like Florida, Georgia, and NC. When was she getting them, in between clinking glasses at the fundraisers?

The first inkling we had that she had purportedly been briefed about what was going on during her excursion out west was Sunday night, two full days after parts of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee had experienced catastrophic, Katrina-like damage.”

Harris also refused to take questions on her way to FEMA, walking straight to the airplane without even looking at reporters.

The Harris campaign was recently accused of using actors to pretend to be former Trump supporters in a campaign ad.

President Biden, who was at his Rehoboth Beach vacation home when Hurricane Helene hit, also faced criticism for his absence during the storm. Biden defended his actions, telling reporters on Monday, “I was commanding, I was on the phone for at least two hours yesterday, and the day before, as well. I commanded, it’s called a telephone.”

As of Monday afternoon, around 600 people were still missing in the aftermath of the hurricane. Harris has canceled planned campaign events and returned to Washington, D.C., for further briefings. She is expected to visit affected areas later this week when it won’t disrupt ongoing relief efforts.
