Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, commonly known as KSM, is a prominent Pakistani Islamist militant. He is infamous for being the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States. Captured in Pakistan in 2003, KSM was subsequently detained at Guantanamo Bay. His involvement in various terrorist plots and his role as a high-ranking member of al-Qaeda have made him a significant figure in global terrorism.
Now, the Biden administration has negotiated with one of the worst terrorists ever to live.
The New York Times reports that the man who designed the attacks against the World Trade Center has made a deal with the Biden administration.
The man accused of plotting the attacks of September 11, 2001, and two of his accomplices have agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy and murder charges in exchange for a life sentence rather than a death-penalty trial at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, prosecutors said Wednesday.
Prosecutors said the deal was meant to bring some “finality and justice” to the case, particularly for the families of nearly 3,000 people who were killed in the attacks in New York City, at the Pentagon and in a Pennsylvania field.
The defendants Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, Walid bin Attash and Mustafa al-Hawsawi reached the deal in talks with prosecutors across 27 months at Guantánamo and approved on Wednesday by a senior Pentagon official overseeing the war court.
“In exchange for the removal of the death penalty as a possible punishment, these three accused have agreed to plead guilty to all of the charged offenses, including the murder of the 2,976 people listed in the charge sheet,” said the letter, which was signed by Rear Adm. Aaron C. Rugh, the chief prosecutor for military commissions, and three lawyers on his team.
The letter said the men could submit their pleas in open court as early as next week.
Biden famous opposed the raid to kill Osama Bin Laden.
The plea agreement bypasses a long and complicated death penalty trial against Mohammed, saving the Biden Department of Justice the hassle of receiving justice for the nearly 3,000 who died during the worst terrorist attack ever against the United States.
CNN noted that it is unclear where Mohammed and his codefendants will serve out their life sentences.
The news channel noted that “the military trial against Mohammed and his alleged co-conspirators was delayed for years as the US tried to determine how to handle the issue of torture used against Mohammed and others at secret CIA prisons in the 2000s. The issue posed a legal problem for prosecutors about whether evidence obtained through torture was admissible in court.
The trial was set to begin on January 11, 2021, but delays brought about by the resignation of two judges and the coronavirus pandemic pushed the date back again.
The Biden administration has made it a priority to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility in Cuba where the defendants have been held, repatriating several detainees who were no longer considered significant threats to national security. But dozens of detainees still remain in the facility.”
The news received scorn from critics and reminded many that Kamala Harris defended the Boston Bomber’s right to vote in 2019.
In 2020 Kamala Harris argued the Boston Bomber should be allowed to vote.
In 2024 her administration offered the 9/11 terrorists plea deals.

After receiving pushback, she, of course, changed her mind, which she has done several times about many topics, including fracking and implementing a single-payer healthcare system.
