Fox News fans have been wondering when one of their favorite hosts would announce she had a baby, but instead, they received shocking news.
Fox News commentator Kat Timpf announced on social media that she was diagnosed with breast cancer just 15 hours before giving birth to her first child last week. In a post on Twitter, she revealed that doctors had identified Stage 0 breast cancer, an early and highly treatable form of the disease, shortly before she went into labor.
An Unconventional Birth Announcement
Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Now, before you worry, my doctor says it’s Stage 0 and is confident that it almost certainly hasn’t…

Sharing her experience with her usual sense of humor, Timpf reassured her followers not to worry, saying, “Don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a LITTLE bit of cancer.” She described a whirlwind day spent juggling medical consultations about her treatment options while preparing for childbirth. Her doctors recommended a double mastectomy as the most effective course of action, urging her to undergo the procedure as soon as possible.
“I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out,” she wrote. “Finally, by the middle of the night, I was crawling around on the floor of my apartment in spontaneous labor before heading to the hospital to meet my baby, whom I’d learn at the time of birth was a son.”
Despite the seriousness of her diagnosis, Timpf maintained her sense of humor, joking that she considered placing an image of her tumor’s ultrasound next to her baby’s on the refrigerator, noted The Daily Caller.
Timpf received an outpouring of support following her message, including from many members of the Fox News family, the outlet reported.

We love you, Kat, & will be here for you every step of the way. What a relief that you caught it early. Also, your baby is adorable and such a blessing. Yes, it’s crazy to be writing a ‘congrats on becoming a mom—and also, beat cancer’ message like this, but the reality itself is…

“You are amazing in every way. And you were heroic in labor given the day you’d just had! I love you,” Kennedy said.

Timpf, widely recognized for her sharp wit and candid commentary, has not yet disclosed the specifics of her treatment timeline.
Stage 0 breast cancer, also known as ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), is a non-invasive form of the disease in which abnormal cells remain confined to the milk ducts. With early detection and treatment—ranging from lumpectomy and mastectomy to, in some cases, radiation therapy—the survival rate is exceptionally high, exceeding 99 percent.
