CBS News is again coming under fire for bias after it was caught editing answers to try and help Democrats.
The House Speaker claims that CBS deliberately edited out parts of his interview where he discussed Hurricane Helene damage, FEMA funding, and concerns about illegal migrants voting in the upcoming election. According to him, they cut o
Fox News writes:
House Speaker Mike Johnson accused CBS News of cutting critical key answers he gave during a “Face the Nation” appearance on Sunday as the embattled network still faces backlash over airing two different answers Vice President Kamala Harris gave to the same question.
While TV news organizations cut or trim pre-taped interviews for time on a regular basis, the process is supposed to be done with journalistic integrity that doesn’t strip critical context or give the appearance an answer could have been given at a different stage of the interview. CBS News has faced scrutiny in recent days for airing a longwinded answer Harris gave when promoting a recent “60 Minutes” interview, but cutting the poorly received answer when the show aired in primetime, instead showing a different response.
“CBS has been under fire for selectively editing their interviews to PROMOTE Democrats and UNDERMINE Republicans. Yesterday, they chose to cut FIVE important minutes out of my nearly 15 minute interview. You can be the judge as to why,” Johnson posted on X before providing examples.
“I recently traveled to NC and victims of Hurricane Helene told me nearly two weeks after landfall, the Biden-Harris Administration had STILL not provided them with all the resources they desperately needed,” Johnson added. “But CBS selectively edited OUT ENTIRELY this first-hand perspective.”
The Washington Examiner noted that CBS News cut out significant portions of the interview that talked about illegal voting by noncitizens.
“House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) accused CBS News of cutting several segments of a recent interview he conducted with the network, including a part that spotlighted the Department of Justice’s lawsuit against Virginia.
The DOJ sued Virginia last week after Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) issued an executive order in August that removed over 6,300 noncitizens from the state’s voter registration rolls. Johnson spoke about the lawsuit during a pretaped interview on CBS News’s Face The Nation on Sunday and later accused the network of cutting his answer from its broadcast.
‘Apparently, CBS also doesn’t want you to hear about Virginia Gov. Youngkin, who is trying to clean the state’s voter rolls so non-American citizens can’t vote there,” Johnson said on X. “We need more states doing this, but the Biden-Harris Administration is SUING VIRGINIA and trying to STOP it.’”
Johnson’s staff did something smart, however. They recorded the interview themselves, revealing how the news organization edited the Republican leader’s answers to make them weaker while editing Kamala Harris to make her look coherent.

CBS has previously been accused of editing the answers of Kamala Harris during her interview with “60 Minutes” last week.

Former Clinton pollster, Mark Penn, announced that an overwhelming majority of Americans want to see the unedited version of the Harris interview, one of the few she has performed since becoming the Democratic nominee.
By 85 to 15 the American public in poll believes CBS should release the full transcript of its interview with Harris.
Why would a journalistic institution want to hold back information from the public when its job is to inform people? The public is clear on this.

Multiple news outlets and politicians have called for CBS News to release the unedited tapes.
