However, as Donald Trump seeks re-election, Melania has taken a noticeably quieter approach this time around.
In contrast to her previously high-profile presence, the former model and longtime wife of Donald Trump has largely remained behind the scenes during this campaign. Since her appearance at the Republican National Convention last summer, she has refrained from participating in official campaign events. While she may occasionally step into the spotlight, her overall approach reflects a more reserved and low-key role in this election cycle.
While the fo absence has been noted, she finally spoke out about why we’ve seen less of her this time around, writes The Washington Examiner.
Former first lady Melania Trump said the two attempts against the life of her husband former President Donald Trump have affected how she campaigns for him.
With a week left until the election, Melania Trump appeared on Fox and Friends on Tuesday to explain how she has seen how “dangerous” the campaign has become since 2016. As the Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump was shot in the ear while rallying in Pennsylvania and stalked by another armed man while he golfed in Florida.
“It is different. It is much more dangerous, and I am very vigilant and very selective where I go, what I do, because, you know, you never know,” she said. “It’s very dangerous out there.”
Melania Trump has made rare campaign appearances, with her first fundraiser for her husband’s 2024 campaign happening in April of this year. It was hosted by the GOP LGBT group Log Cabin Republicans. At that point, the former president had been campaigning for reelection for almost a year and a half.

The former First Lady has had a tough year personally. In January, Melania’s mother, Amalija Knavs, passed away after an illness.
Melania also slammed liberals who have appeared to get close to the line of calling for her husband’s death. “Critics have called on top Democrats, like former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Vice President Harris, to tone down divisive rhetoric after some accused him of reenacting a Nazi rally at his Madison Square Garden event over the weekend,” noted Fox News.
“It’s terrible. He’s not Hitler, and all of his supporters, they’re standing behind him because they want to see [the] country successful,” the former First Lady said. “And we see what kind of support he has.”
She continued by saying that the current campaign feels more like 2016 than 2020. “I feel it’s kind of the same like 2016, the support out there. It’s incredible and… people see what’s going on in the country and what kind of leadership they want…. They want prosperity. They want American dream coming back, so that’s what we will decide on November 5th.”
