By Update: The rumors of a super-celebrity making a surprise endorsement appears to have been a scam set up by the Harris campaign to try and get more viewers to watch her speech.
Politico writes that “rumors of a surprise celebrity guest had gone viral on social media and swirled through the United Center, with guesses ranging from superstars like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift to politicians like former President George W. Bush.
But Vice President Kamala Harris capped off the convention with no surprise guest in sight — perhaps in a move to keep attention on the Democratic presidential nominee.”
Axios reported that viewership of the Democratic National Convention was down 20 percent from 2016 and many suspect that the ploy was done in an effort to get more eyes on their newly minted nominee.
Maybe the two megastars learned that Harris intends to tax unrealized gains and crash the economy?

As the November election approaches, discussions are intensifying about who might fill key positions in a Kamala Harris administration. According to The Washington Examiner, while many Democrats with presidential aspirations have sidestepped such speculation, some prominent party officials are open to taking on senior roles if Harris triumphs over former President Donald Trump.
One such figure is Senator Chris Coons (D-DE), a close ally of President Joe Biden and a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Coons is viewed as a top candidate to replace Antony Blinken as Secretary of State. When asked about this possibility, Coons expressed eagerness to continue influencing U.S. foreign policy, whether through his current committee work or in a new role. “I’m confident that Kamala Harris would be a great president for American national security and foreign policy,” Coons told the outlet during a conversation outside a delegate breakfast in Chicago.
Similarly, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo did not rule out the possibility of joining a Harris administration, potentially as Treasury Secretary. However, Raimondo stressed the immediate need to focus on the election, saying, “But right now, we got to get her to win.” Raimondo, who attended the convention in a personal capacity to comply with the Hatch Act, praised Harris’s economic message, describing it as “an absolutely winning” strategy focused on strengthening the middle class and creating good-paying jobs.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, who has held his position under both the Biden and Obama administrations, laughed off suggestions that he might continue in this role under Harris. Still, Vilsack emphasized his lifelong dedication to creating economic opportunities in rural America, indicating his commitment to this mission, regardless of his future position.
New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, previously considered for the role of Health and Human Services Secretary under Biden, also appeared open to contributing to a Harris administration. “I want to do my part to keep moving America forward,” she said at a breakfast with the Georgia delegation.
Fresh off embarrassing the Harris campaign after calling for J.D. Vance’s wife to be assaulted, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said that he has little interest in joining the cabinet, saying, “I’m right where I’m supposed to be,” he told reporters at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. “I love being governor of Kentucky. I’ve got 3 1/2 years left to do my best.”
Beshear had previously been on the shortlist for vice president.

As if to confirm that her entire campaign is media-driven, the vice president is expected to be joined by a mega-celebrity, likely Beyonce Knowles or Taylor Swift, according to The Daily Beast.

The entire convention is buzzing with rumors and high hopes that the global megastar will make a dramatic appearance Thursday night as Harris accepts her party’s nomination to be the first Black female president. And if it is in the books, it is the most tightly held of intelligence, especially since The Chicks are set to sing the National Anthem to kick off Thursday night and Pink has already been announced as a closing night performer.
A senior DNC source told the Daily Beast that the only DNC official who would know for sure if a global superstar like Beyoncé is participating in Kamalapalooza would be Ricky Kirshner, the award-winning live televised event producer who is orchestrating the entire production in Chicago.
And if Taylor Swift, who does have time off until her next Eras tour concert on Oct. 18 in Miami, were to appear to fulfill Democrats’ wildest dreams—again, only Kirshner would know. A DNC official with close knowledge of event planning who requested anonymity (because his neck would be on the line for speaking freely about the forum’s most sensitive topic) said he could “not confirm or deny” whether Beyoncé will grace the convention with her presence Thursday night. Questions about Swift rumors weren’t even indulged.”
