Senator Elizabeth Warren Supports Kamala Harris for Citizenship Pathway

Senator Elizabeth Warren believes that if Vice President Kamala Harris secures the White House in 100 days, she will advocate vigorously for establishing a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

The work would likely build on that of Democrats in states like Arizona.

Warren emphasized that a pathway for citizenship would be a critical focus of Harris’s administration, reflecting a commitment to comprehensive immigration reform. The move, Fox News writes, would assure that the 11 million or so Harris and Biden allowed into the country would find their ways onto the voter rolls.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., called for creating a pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants on Sunday, arguing Vice President Kamala Harris is the candidate to “get it done.”

Warren made the comments during a Sunday morning appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” with host Jake Tapper. Tapper pressed her to defend the immigration policies of the Biden-Harris administration, which have been historically unpopular.

“I don’t need to tell you voters overwhelmingly disapprove of how the Biden-Harris administration has handled the border,” Tapper said. “By giving the nomination to one of the leaders of the border effort, aren’t Democrats doubling down on one of your party’s biggest vulnerabilities?”

“Border crossings now are lower than they were in the last year of the Trump administration. But recognize – and I know that Kamala Harris knows – this is a problem that ultimately has to be solved by Congress,” Warren responded.

Warren’s comment, which says the quiet part out loud, will not likely be entirely welcomed by the Kamala Harris campaign. Over the past two weeks, the vice president and her allies in the media have attempted to downplay her role as “border czar,” hoping to separate her from Biden’s disastrous border policies, which have allowed over ten million migrants into the border.

Immigration and poor government leadership—i.e., Biden and Harris in general—have been near the top of voters’ policy concerns for nearly a year.

The vice president is unlikely to be able to run away from her past when it comes to her radical stances on immigration. Her own past words show what she really believes. During her time in the Senate, for example, the vice president tried to make a ridiculous comparison between ICE, who enforces American immigration policies, and the Ku Klux Klan.

In 2018, Harris tried to reduce funding for ICE and urged her colleagues to defund the border wall.

Trump has compared his border security policies to those of the current administration. Highlighting how the Biden administration reversed many of his initiatives. He recently promised to overturn Biden’s policies if re-elected.

“So I will terminate every open-border policy of the Biden Harris administration. On day one, I will seal the border, stop the invasion, and keep America safe,” he said.
