Law enforcement officials investigating the assassination attempt on Donald Trump over the weekend informed lawmakers on Wednesday that  20-minutes went by between U.S. Secret Service snipers first identifying a gunman on a rooftop and the shots fired at the former president.

“Officials said the snipers spotted the suspect, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, on the roof of a building outside the security zone at the rally Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, at 5:52 p.m. ET. The shooting happened at 6:12 p.m. ET, 20 minutes later, the sources said,” according to ABC News.

The outrageous revelation led several senators to call for Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle—Jill Biden’s handpicked leader of the agency—to resign and saw three senators chase her around the Convention hall on Wednesday night demanding answers.

Now House Republicans want in on the action. The Daily Caller has revealed that Jim Jordan has no plans to take the massive failure that almost cost the life of Donald Trump sitting down.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan is sending a letter Thursday to Federal Bureau Of Investigations (FBI) Director Christopher Wray demanding answers to a number of questions related to the security failings that led to the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump after hearing from a number of United States Secret Service (USSS) whistleblowers.

The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the letter to Wray in which Jordan mentions that USSS whistleblowers are telling the committee that there was limited resources to cover Trump due to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Washington, D.C., and First Lady Jill Biden’s campaign rally in Pittsburgh, PA.

“Whistleblowers have disclosed to the Committee that the USSS led two briefings regarding the July 13 campaign rally on July 8, 2024, with the Western Pennsylvania Fusion Center (WPFC) and other stakeholders, to discuss the upcoming, unrelated visits by President Trump and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. The USSS Special Agent in Charge Tim Burke reportedly told law enforcement partners that the USSS had limited resources that week because the agency was covering the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Washington, D.C. FBI personnel were present at those briefings. While the Committee recognizes that the FBI is one of many agencies represented in the WPFC, it is the lead federal investigative arm and a key source of intelligence on potential threats for special events in its area of responsibility,” Jordan writes in the letter.

“The Committee has several unanswered questions about the failures that led to the attempted assassination of a president—the first in over forty years—as well as the FBI’s ability to conduct a rapid, transparent, and thorough investigation in the wake of its recent scandals. Accordingly, to ensure that the Committee can effectively evaluate these matters during your testimony on July 24, 2024,” he added.

Jordan’s letter requests detailed information on the FBI’s response to the attempted assassination at President Trump’s event on July 13. It asks for the number of FBI agents, analysts, and support personnel dedicated to the investigation.

The Ohio Republican also inquires about the coordination between the FBI, USSS, and WPFC prior to the event, the number of buildings secured inside and outside the perimeter, and why the roof of the AGR International building was left unsecured. He also seeks information on the timing between identifying the shooter as a potential threat and the attempted assassination, as well as the interaction between the local police officer and the shooter. Additionally, he questions whether the FBI has interviewed the officer and what the investigation has revealed about the shooter’s digital activity and possible resource constraints impacting security.

Furthermore, Jordan demands access to all FBI reports, analyses, and threat assessments related to the event, as well as documents and communications between WPFC, FBI, and USSS. He requests all FD-1023s and FD-302s of confidential source reporting and reviews of terrorism investigations in the Pittsburgh area for potential threats related to the event.

So far, Cheatle has refused to be accountable for the security failure and has said that both President Biden and Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Mayorkas have told her they have “100 percent confidence” in her work.
