A scary scene just occurred during a political rally where it appears that former President Donald Trump may have been shot just days after President Joe Biden said that it was “time to put Trump in a bullseye.”

According to witnesses in the front row at the rally near Trump with Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) and Pennsylvania GOP Senate Candidate Dave McCormick 8-10 shots were fired at the former president. Multiple people in the crowd may have been hit and were down.  The witness, Representative Dan Meuser, said that it sounded like a .22 or a small caliber weapon.

According to The Palm Beach Post, shots have been fired at former President Donald Trump as he held a rally in Pennsylvania.

Two people are in custody after law enforcement opened fire near President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate following a car chase, according to the sheriff’s office.

An SUV breached two security points outside Trump’s Palm Beach home, and law enforcement fired their weapons at the vehicle, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said. It was not immediately known which agency those law enforcement officers worked for.

The Florida Highway Patrol and a PBSO helicopter chased the SUV and found it. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the shooting, PBSO said.

The incident occurred just hours before Trump is expected to arrive at his Palm Beach mansion and club.

The former president and Republican frontrunner appeared to grab his neck as Secret Service swarmed to protect him. He has been driven off in an SUV.

Trump appeared to urge his supporters to continue fighting as he was carried away by Secret Service

The Secret Service have announced that the former president, who appeared to have been hit, is safe.

According to reports on the ground, the suspect “is down.” Another witness claimed there were two shooters, but that has not been confirmed. One of the victims of the shooting, according to witnesses, was a two star general on stage with the former president.

Butler county district attorney Richard Goldinger told a reporter that an audience member was killed and the shooter is dead. Another person is in serious condition.

The former president’s son said his father will never stop fighting for America.

In May, Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer attacked the former president for claiming that his political opponents were out to kill him, calling it “outlandish and dangerous,” noted The Hill. He urged Republican colleagues to tamp down conspiracies he worries could lead to violence.

“What Donald Trump said falsely suggesting his political opponents are out to kill him is beyond the pale and is the stuff that leads to political violence,” Schumer said on the Senate floor. “Donald Trump seems to have no consideration for the sanctity and peacefulness and further functioning of our democracy.”

Following the shooting, Schumer wrote that he is “horrified by what happened at the Trump rally in Pennsylvania and relieved that former President Trump is safe. Political violence has no place in our country.”

This is an ongoing and developing story.
