Biden White House Caught Pushing Surgeries For Minors

The Biden Administration has become defined by its penchant for saying one thing and doing the exact opposite, especialy when it comes to pretending to support moderation while actually fighting for leftwing cultural issues.

Nothing has shown this more than the way the president talks about transgender surgery for kids versus what his administration actually supports.

During the 2020 election, for example, the media guffawed when conservatives accused Biden of supporting “gender transitions for minors,” typically considered the performing an irreversible surgery to remove the genitals on children or giving them hormone therapy opposite of the gender they were assigned at birth.

In a since-deleted article, on October 21, 2020, The Associated Press wrote a “fact check” article with the headline “Biden did not say transgender children should be able to ‘transition.’”

AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. Social media users are altering comments made by Biden during an Oct. 15 town hall to falsely suggest he supports sex changing medical procedures for young children. Biden said transgender children should not experience discrimination, but he did not say they ‘have a right to transition.’”

Three years into his presidency, his administration has not only been caught targeting whistleblowers in Texas who took action to stop the illegal “transitioning” of children against state law, but it has now been revealed that the White House was so concerned about the issue that health officials leaned on medical groups to oppose age restrictions that most doctors believe are warranted.

The New York Times reports that the Biden administration worried that having recommended age minimum for surgeries would give credence to critics of the “treatments” who say that children do not have the mental capacity, nor have gone through puberty, and therefore are incapable of making such life-altering decisions.

Health officials in the Biden administration pressed an international group of medical experts to remove age limits for adolescent surgeries from guidelines for care of transgender minors, according to newly unsealed court documents.

Email excerpts from members of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health recount how staff for Adm. Rachel Levine, assistant secretary for health at the Department of Health and Human Services and herself a transgender woman, urged them to drop the proposed limits from the group’s guidelines and apparently succeeded.

The proposed age limits were eliminated in the final guidelines outlining standards of care, spurring concerns within the international group and with outside experts as to why the age proposals had vanished.

Another email stated that Admiral Levine “was very concerned that having ages (mainly for surgery) will affect access to care for trans youth and maybe adults, too. Apparently the situation in the U.S.A. is terrible and she and the Biden administration worried that having ages in the document will make matters worse. She asked us to remove them.”

It’s another example of a White House decision that makes it hard to believe that the 82-year-old president is actually the one in charge rather than his young, more radical staff like Tyler Cherry. Cherry was recently promoted to a high position in the White House despite evidence that he believes police are “slave patrols” and has called for the end of the Border Patrol.

The pressure campaign to allow children to have mastectomies or “bottom surgery,” led by Rachel Levine, a transwoman who serves as assistant secretary for health for Biden, also impacted one of the most prominent pediatric groups in the United States, according to The Daily Caller.

“The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s preeminent pediatric medical organization, worked “very closely” with a transgender medical activist group to advocate for children to receive sex changes, according to emails obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Numerous Republican-led states have recently passed protective legislation banning minors from accessing experimental procedures, such as puberty blockers and genital surgery, as more and more evidence emerged challenging the justification for child sex changes. To combat these bans, the AAP quietly partnered with the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH), a group that’s been widely criticized for pushing transgender ideology over sound medical science.

While the AAP and WPATH had previously collaborated on multiple amicus briefs supporting legal challenges to child sex change bans, emails obtained by the DCNF reveal a far deeper level of coordination between the two organizations in pushing for children’s access to the procedures across the country.

Members of both organizations regularly coordinated with one another, in some cases strategizing how to combat child sex change bans. Moreover, a board member of the United States Professional Association of Transgender Health (USPATH), a regional subsidiary of WPATH, wrote that expanding their partnership with the AAP was a “goal” of the organization.”

The White House, AAP, and WPATH all worked together to push their radical agenda, which has been heavily criticized by healthcare workers.

Last year, for example, Levine and Biden’s HHS were called out by a progressive whistleblower named Jamie Reed, a case worker at a hospital in Missouri, who said that the White House’s push to steer kids into removing their genitals or taking hormones that would sterilize them was “morally appalling.”

Reed slammed the hospital center where she was employed for downplaying possible negative consequences on both boys and girls — including suicide.

“Being put on powerful doses of testosterone or estrogen — enough to try to trick your body into mimicking the opposite sex — affects the rest of the body,” she wrote. “I doubt that any parent who’s ever consented to give their kid testosterone (a lifelong treatment) knows that they’re also possibly signing their kid up for blood pressure medication, cholesterol medication, and perhaps sleep apnea and diabetes.”

She added, “Our patients were told about some side effects, including sterility. But after working at the center, I came to believe that teenagers are simply not capable of fully grasping what it means to make the decision to become infertile while still a minor,” according to The New York Post.

The Biden administration’s obsession with having no limits on these treatments is the outlier in the world and ignores something liberals claim to love: “the science.” Citing insufficient research, European health bodies have begun restricting hormone therapies and surgeries on children.

Along with the United Kingdom, noted US News and World Report, “several countries, including traditionally more progressive nations like Sweden and Norway, are changing guidelines at least in part due to questions from some doctors about the risks of such procedures.”
